How It Works

How to create an account

  • Click on the button marked ‘Create Account’ or ‘Register Free’
  • Fill in your email address, followed by a password. This password will be used to access your Uber freelancer account.
  • Click on the button marked ‘Captcha’ and follow the prompts, then click the ‘Verify’ button.
  • Click on the button marked ‘I have read and accept the Uber freelancer terms and conditions. (Click on the ‘Terms and conditions’ hyperlink to read.)
  • Click button marked ‘Please verify email account’
  • Check your email account to verify your new account. (Check your ‘Junk email’ or ‘Spam email’ as the message may be in these folders.)
  • Open the email and click on the button marked ‘Verify’

How to create an ‘Employer’ profile

  • Click on the button marked ‘Create employer profile’
  • Choose either the ‘individual’ or ‘business’ radial buttons.
  • Fill out the ‘employer name’ text field.
  • Add your ‘Country’ and ‘Time zone’
  • Add an overview, something that may describe you or your business.
  • Upload an image of yourself or your company’s logo.
  • Click on the button marked ‘Save Profile’

How to create a ‘Freelancer’ profile

  • Click on the button marked ‘Create Freelancer profile’
  • Choose either the ‘individual’ or ‘business’ radial buttons.
  • Fill out the ‘freelancer name’ text field.
  • Add your ‘Country’ and ‘Time zone’
  • Add an overview, something that may describe you or your business.
  • Add your skills
  • Add in your ‘Hourly Rate’ (This is optional)
  • Upload an image of yourself or your company’s logo.
  • Click on the button marked ‘Save Profile’

How to Post a Job

  • Click on’ Post a job’, located on the blue banner at the top of the dashboard page.
  • Enter your Job Title. E.g. Design an app for android.
  • Enter your job description Note: The more descriptive your job is , the better understanding your potential freelancer will have.
  • Add some files related to the job. Note: 5mb maximum
  • Add your job category and sub category (Sub category is optional)
  • Select the Skills required to perform the job. Note: It is important to select the skills required for the job carefully. These skills will be matched with our freelancer database. This determines who will be eligible to quote on your job. The skill search is suggestive, and will only show the skills that match the category and subcategory.
  • Select your jobs ‘Duration’ (amount of time it will take to perform your job.)
  • Select your job ‘Amount’ ( How much money in USD)
  • Select your job ‘Location’ Note: The location can be selected as worldwide and every freelancer with the skill that you selected will receive an email alerting them to your job. Or you can specifically select a country, and every freelancer with the skill that you selected will receive an email alerting them to your job
  • Click on the button marked ‘I have read and accept the Uber freelancer terms and conditions. (Click on the ‘Terms and conditions’ hyperlink to read.)
  • Click on the button marked ‘Post a Job’, and your job is now live and available to freelancers to quote on.

How to Award a Job and Fund a Milestone

  • The employer can award a job to their chosen freelancer by clicking on the ‘View Quotes’ tab on the “Home’ section of the dashboard. The employer can view and sort through multiple quotes to make their choice. When a suitable freelancer has been chosen the employer must click on the ‘Award’ button to start the process of hiring the freelancer.
  • A prompt will tell the employer ‘Congratulations your job has been awarded. You will be notified once the Freelancer completes your Job Milestones.’
  • This will then place the job in the ‘Jobs Awaiting Approval’ section located on the employer dashboard page. Once the Freelancer that has been awarded the job sends the ‘Milestones’, they can be viewed by clicking on the ‘Show Milestone’ button.
  • The ‘Milestones’ can either be ‘Accepted’ or ‘Declined’ and a job ‘Messaging’ dialogue is now open for the employer and freelancer to chat.
  • A prompt will the ask the employer to ‘Fund’ a milestone payment in the ‘Milestone Payment’ section of the ‘Employer Finances’ tab on the dashboard. When the milestone has been successfully funded, the job will be opened in the ‘Jobs in Progress’ section and the freelancer can then start work on the project.

How to Release a Milestone payment, and How to ‘Close’ a job.

  • After a milestone is completed and you have reviewed the freelancers work, you can release the payment into the freelancers payment account by clicking on the ‘Release’ button located on the ‘Jobs in Progress’ ‘Job Details’ tab. Or alternatively on the ‘Milestone Payment’ section of the “Employer Finances’.
  • When all of your Milestone Payments have been released, the job will be opened in the ‘Completed Jobs’ tab, where you can add a Review on your freelancers job performance.
  • Alternatively you can close out the job by clicking on the ‘Close Job’ button on the ‘Jobs in Progress’ ‘Job Details’ tab. (Remember , when you close a job using this method, be sure to have all of your funded payments released first. Otherwise the job may be placed in a ‘Dispute’.)

How to Create Milestones

  • Once a freelancer has been awarded a job by their employer, this job will then be opened in the ‘Jobs Awaiting Approval’ section located on the freelancer dashboard.
  • Click on the ‘Create Milestones’ button to the right of the job description, and follow the prompts by entering your Milestone title, the delivery date that you expect to finish this milestone, the hours it will take to perform your tasks and or an amount.
  • If there are any questions relating to the job a ‘Messaging’ dialogue is now open for the employer and freelancer to chat.
  • Clicking on the + tab will create another milestone, and after all of the text fields have been added, clicking on the ‘Submit’ button will send the milestones to the employer.
  • After the employer has funded a milestone, the job will then be opened in the ‘Jobs in Progress’ section and the freelancer can then start work on the project.

How to apply for a job

  • A freelancer that has registered to the Uber freelancer website and has entered their skills in the ’Freelancer profile’, will automatically be sent via email, any job that fits their profile description. The freelancer can then ‘Apply’ for the job and ‘Create a Quote’.
  • Freelancers can look for a job using the tab ‘Freelancer Find a Job’ on the gray banner at the top of the dashboard page. The jobs that are posted by the employer display the Job information including: Job description, Job Budget, Job duration and Skills that are required for the job.
  • To apply for the job, simply click on the ‘Apply’ button to the right of the job description, and then provide the information required to ‘Create a Quote’.

How to Create a Quote

  • To ‘Create a Quote’ for a job first click on the ‘Apply’ button to the right of the job description. A popup screen will prompt you to ‘Please enter your Quote Details’, Enter your Quote amount, and drag or drop any files that may help back up your Quotes description.
  • Then click on the ‘Apply’ button to the bottom right of the popup screen, and your Quote will be sent to the employer.
